# Risks And Limitations

ParlayIt is built around prediction markets, native parlays, and fast settlement. Users should still understand the main risks and limitations before trading.

## Prices Can Move

Market prices change as users trade, new information appears, and liquidity changes.

A price shown earlier may not be available later. A quote or orderbook price should be reviewed before placing a trade.

## Quotes Can Change Or Be Unavailable

Parlay quotes are produced by market makers posting into the parlay orderbook in response to real-time RFQs. Because the quote depends on current market conditions and on whether makers are responding, a parlay quote can change between when you start building and when you place, and in some cases may not be available at all.

The betslip automatically refreshes the quote and shows the latest available price. If liquidity is thin or no market maker is responding, the quote may be temporarily unavailable.

## Parlay Payouts Depend On Every Leg

The YES token of a parlay wins only if every selected leg wins. If one leg loses, the YES token loses entirely, even if every other leg resolves correctly. The NO token of a parlay is the mirror: it wins if at least one selected leg loses.

This is the trade-off that comes with parlays: in exchange for potentially larger payouts, every selected outcome must be correct.

If a leg resolves 50/50, the parlay's payout is reduced by a 0.5 multiplier rather than eliminated. See [The 50/50 Case](/concepts/resolution.md#the-5050-case) for details.

## Resolution Controls Settlement

Positions settle based on market resolution.

Until a market resolves, positions tied to that market or to parlays that include it may remain unsettled.

## Bridge Timing Can Vary

Deposits wait for Polygon finality plus an additional safety buffer before being credited to your ParlayIt account. This currently takes about 3 minutes.

Withdrawals follow one of two paths: an instant fast path for smaller amounts within current capacity, or a slow queue with a 14-hour timelock for larger amounts or when the fast path is saturated. The exact thresholds (per-withdrawal cap, TVL cap, and hourly throughput) are listed in the [Bridge page's Limits Summary](/using-parlayit/bridge.md#limits-summary) and may change as the bridge grows.

## Withdrawal Fees

Withdrawals carry a small flat fee, charged on the ParlayIt chain when the withdrawal is requested. The fee discourages spam and helps keep the withdrawal flow available for normal use. See the [Bridge page](/using-parlayit/bridge.md#withdrawal-fee) for the current amount.
